Macmillan Year 10 boys progressed to the second round of the County Cup this week with an excellent win over Egglescliffe school.

Macmaillan Academy Year 10 Boys Football team beat Egglescliffe School 5-0 in the first round of the County Cup.

An excellent performance from all of the players made the visit to Allen's West playing field an enjoyable experience.

Goals from Paul Vaulks, Dom Gappy and Jack Harrison in the first half settled any nerves that the players may have had and made the half time team talk easy for Mr Lane to deliver.

In the second half Egglescliffe shuffled their team around and came out strong and controlled the midfield. Against the wind they were able to create chances for their strikers and put Macmillan under a little pressure. A change in tactics and formation by Mr Lane resolved the battle in the midfield with Macmillan regaining the upper hand and going on to create many more chances. Paul Vaulks grabbed his second of the match and later had the opportunity to get his hat trick.

Unfortunately for Paul the Egglescliffe goalkeeper saved the attempt but could do nothing when Captain Greg Stubley followed in the rebound to make it five.

Man of the match for the second time in 3 games was Sam Hopson who yet again displayed great technical ability create space and spread the ball around the pitch.

Well Done!
