Visual Merchandising Inspiration Visit


Last week Post 16 business and enterprise students visited the Middlesbrough designer department store, Psyche to create their own visual merchandising display.

This is a project which students have been planning and reviewing as part of their assignment. Visual merchandising is the art of setting out stores in ways that customers will find attractive and appealing. Window and internal displays, product positioning and effective promotional techniques are all important aspects of visual merchandising designed to increase store traffic and sales volume.

This assignment allowed students the opportunity to review their learning to implement their theory into practice. Students considered display techniques such as product placement, techniques and props to create successful displays.

The students should be very pleased with their final products and Psyche were also very complimentary about the displays that the students produced. Well done!
