Former student Ella Hanlon returned to the academy on Monday to talk to post 16 students about apprenticeships at IBM.

The former ICT, psychology and law student gained a place on the prestigious apprenticeship scheme and is currently working in London.

Ella, along with her colleague Hattie, spoke to A Level ICT and computer science students, as well as offering drop in sessions throughout the morning for any interested students to ask questions about the scheme.

Applications are now open for any interested Year 13 students in a range of different fields from project management, software development, accountancy and many more.

Ella's visit coincided with national apprenticeship week in which employers and apprentices from across England come together to celebrate the success of apprenticeships whilst encouraging even more people to choose apprenticeships as a pathway to a great career.
