The Year 7 football team currently sit top of the Middlesbrough Schools League, and played against St Aidans School in Harrogate in the 5th Round of the National Cup.



The Year 7 football team played against St Aidans School in Harrogate in the 5th Round of the National Cup. So far this season the team has won every game they have played. They currently sit top of the Middlesbrough Schools League, Middlesbrough Schools Winter League and are through to the Semi Final of the County Cup.

The Year 7 boys came up against a strong St Aidans side who have scored 22 goals in the previous 4 rounds. Macmillan had the better of the first half and found a number of chances from some outstanding long balls from Oliver Samuels to Ajay Matthews. Ajay Matthews converted two of these chances and Macmillan led at half time 2-1. The second half saw St Aidans come on stronger, Macmillan were caught on the break a couple of times to trail 3-2. There was a late rally from the Macmillan team and they created more chances like in the first half but could not grab and equaliser before the final whistle.



Students were distraught after the loss and knew that could have won the game with some small adjustments. They will come back stronger and move on the secure their strong league position and cup run.
