A group of 15 Year 12 science and engineering students recently took part in the 'Introduction to Mechanical Engineering' event run by Sheffield University.

A group of 15 Year 12 science and engineering students recently took part in the 'Introduction to Mechanical Engineering' event run by Sheffield University.

Our students were given the opportunity to explore tribology, the branch of mechanical engineering that looks at the friction and wear of surfaces in relative motion.

Whilst there, students took part in a number of practical sessions and a university-style lecture. The day was concluded with a tour of the university facilities and chance to talk to both students and staff about application to university and life beyond Post16.
