On Saturday 1 October 21 Year 10 students took part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award expedition taster day, which took place on the North Yorkshire Moors.
On Saturday 1 October 21 Year 10 students took part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award expedition taster day, which took place on the North Yorkshire Moors.
Students were carrying large expedition rucksacks, full to the brim of camping equipment, and the emphasis was to simulate one day of the two day expedition.
It was an incredibly successful day; the students thoroughly enjoyed themselves, they gained a valuable insight into what the expedition offers and they know what they need to work on, but most importantly it has given them the confidence to think that 'Yes I can complete the Duke of Edinburgh's Award' as well as the motivation to sign up for the award.
