Students have performed very well in their GCSE examinations and equivalent qualifications this year and we warmly congratulate them on their achievements.

Staff and students at Macmillan Academy are celebrating a superb set of GCSE results. 72% of students achieved the new 'basics measure' of a good pass (A*-C) in both English and maths with 73% achieving 5 A*-C grades including English and maths.

87% of students gained a C or above in English with 74% of students gaining a C or above in maths.

86% of students made expected progress in English with 50% making better than expected progress. In maths, 74% of students made expected progress where 37% exceeded expected progress.

Principal Phil Latham said, "We are very proud of our students and it will be a delight to see them collect their results today. The qualifications they have sat are challenging, they have worked so hard and fully deserve these excellent results."

Whilst we are proud of all of our students, there were some particularly notable performances this year, including Jennifer Ellis (8 A*, 1 A grade), Laura Duncan (7 A*, 2 A grades), Rebecca Algie (6 A*, 3 A grades), Mark Peacock (6 A*, 4 A grades), Jack Walker (5 A*, 4 A grades) and Olivia Chambers (5 A*, 3 A grades), to name but a few of many high achievers.
