On Tuesday 12 April our French partnership school Catherine de Vivonne, which is based in Rambouillet near Paris, brought 54 French students and 4 staff to spend the day with us.

Although a typical rainy day in England there were plenty of smiles and fun to keep everyone going throughout the day.

Our French visitors arrived for period 2 and were greeted by the some Post 16 students and a Year 11 French class who took them to different classes to experience various lessons they would not normally get the chance to do in their own school.

The students then spent period 3 sampling different activities. These included making smoothies in food technology with Mrs Lloyd, enacting mini dramas with Miss Yale, playing SPLAT in mathematics with Mr Syed, dancing in the theatre with Mr Carr, checking their health with Miss Hargreaves and making postcards with Mrs Charlton. They also had a fabulous lunch made by Mrs Bolko and her team.

It was a superb day which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Our guests were amazed by Macmillan's facilities and the friendliness of both staff and students. The French students themselves conducted themselves impeccably throughout the day and it was a real pleasure to see them and their staff again.
