We were honoured to receive a recent visit to the academy from the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu. He visited the academy on Friday 18th December as part of his Pilgrimage of Prayer.

We were honoured to receive a recent visit to the academy from the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu. He visited the academy on Friday 18th December as part of his Pilgrimage of Prayer, wishes and blessings which sees him walking around his diocese of York.

As part of this visit the Archbishop spoke to Post 16 students in their assembly about the idea of magnanimity. He also visited a Year 9 religious studies lesson and spoke to a group of Year 10 enterprise students about their charity campaign. The Archbishop has a long standing passion to helping those in disadvantaged communities and his comments of how to alleviate poverty were both fascinating and thought provoking.
