Once again students showcased their talents in the annual Macmillan Academy production. This year the show performed was 'Bugsy Malone'. For three evenings over a hundred students from all year groups participated in the production, entertaining friends, family and staff.

Student actors, dancers, technicians, stage crew and musicians all came together to tell the story of 1920 gangsters and their fight for power. With silly string Tommy guns and cream pies as the gangsters' choice of weapons, audiences were left laughing at the mess as it unfolded.

With songs such as 'Fat Sam's Grand Slam' and 'Give A Little Love' the theatre was transported back in time to the glamour of the 1920s with set and costumes to match.

As always the production ended on a high note with Bugsy getting his girl and a grand 'shoot out' covering everyone and everything in silly string. The enjoyment of the cast and audience was clear to see, with all involved receiving high praise indeed.

As with every production we are always left with one question. . . What will be the production next year? Watch this space!
