On Tuesday 12th May all Year 7 students participated in the 'Race for Life' event in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK. The event was organised by Stephen Cartmail and his team of Year 12 BTEC Sport students. This involved encouraging Year 7 students to collect sponsorship and design logos they could wear for the race, showing who or what they were running for. Also, the race included a range of obstacles to challenge the students and make it more fun.

All students paid £1 to wear something pink to support this worthy cause and increase the amount of money raised. In addition, snow cones were sold as part of the fundraising effort and these proved a huge hit with the students! The day was a massive success with over 240 students and staff taking part in the race.
