Four of our most talented mathematicians from years 7, 8 and 9 competed in the UKMT Team Maths Challenge Regional Final on Tuesday 28th April. For the fifth year running the event was hosted here at Macmillan Academy with twenty-six other schools from the North East competing fiercely for the title of regional winners.

The challenge involved four different rounds including a relay race which the students found especially enjoyable. After rounds one and two Macmillan Academy was in the lead; however we were just pipped to the post at the end. The results were: 1st Red House, 2nd Teesside High and 3rd Macmillan Academy.

Our students were excellent hosts to the other schools and worked brilliantly as a team. Congratulations to them!
