Fourteen students ranging from Year 7 to Year 10 took part in a Shakespeare Festival at the Acklam Green Centre on the 10th March 2015. This was the culmination of a two-year project working with Archibald Primary School, Priory Woods School, Sunnyside Academy, Breckon Hill Primary, Newport Primary and Acklam Grange School.

The ambitious project saw all schools tackle three Shakespeare plays; Henry IV Part 1, Henry IV Part 2 and Henry V. Each school was given a section of the script to bring to life and through careful direction from Chris White (RSC Director) these sections were seamlessly linked together to create the story of these famous monarchs.

All students involved were a credit to the academy and received the following feedback from the RSC learning performance network team, "The performances were truly wonderful and the young people's enjoyment and investment in the story and Shakespeare's text was evident".

The next stage of our involvement with the RSC will involve a small selection of pupils visiting Stratford to perform at the Royal Shakespeare Company. This will take place in early July. We are very excited about this final step in our Shakespeare adventure.
