Year 10 and 11 BTEC Dance and enrichment students combined for the third annual Dance showcase. It was a wonderful evening and one could only look on with pride at the talent of the students.

Year 10 and 11 BTEC Dance students and Year 7, 8 and 9 enrichment students combined very successfully for the third annual Dance showcase recently.

The two hour show was packed with different cultural dances including Katak, Brazilian Samba and Bollywood dance.

There were exhibitions of Tap solo and duets from traditional river dance music to STOMP style drumming as well as some touching contemporary and lyrical dances. One of the highlights from the evening was our first male dancer performing as part of a duet to an acoustic version of Titanium.

The students have worked hard over the last eight months to learn, practise and rehearse for the evening and their dedication has been outstanding.

The show ended with quite an eerie finale based around evil toys with all performers contributing to the final set. Congratulations to all the students and staff involved in the Dance Showcase 2014. It was a wonderful evening of entertainment and one could only look on with pride at the talent of the students.
