The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal has been traditionally supported, at the Academy, by the Year 13 Business students.

This year is no exception and the Appeal has involved the usual collection of non-perishable food and toys together with various fund-raising activities. This culminated in a Christmas Fair where a variety of decorations and Christmas stocking fillers were on sale.

The students will also attend the Salvation Army Citadel later in the month to help assemble the food and toy parcels for distribution to needy families.

This experience, for the students, is humbling and puts their charity work into a real-life perspective. They then complete a BTEC coursework assignment (Managing an Event) based on the knowledge acquired.
