The annual Sports Presentation Awards 2013 was a huge success with over 300 students in attendance. It was an absolute pleasure to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students over the last academic year.

The annual Sports Presentation Awards 2013 was a huge success with over 300 students in attendance. It was an absolute pleasure to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students over the last academic year and to reward them for their hard work, commitment and dedication to physical education and academy sport.

The main award winners were as follows:

• Team of the Year - Year 7 Girls Athletics
• Volunteer of the Year - Elliott Lam
• Special Contribution to PE and School Sport - Ahzeen Ayub
• Key stage 3 Sports Personality of the Year - Abigail Bell
• Key stage 4 Sports Personality of the Year - Jack Willis
• Key stage 5 Sports Personality of the Year - Patrick O'Connor

The evening was closed with an excellent key note speech by Fabulous Flournoy who emphasised the importance of sport as a vehicle to succeed in life. His own story beginning with his difficult childhood to where he has come today, demonstrated how sport provided him with the opportunity to achieve in life.

Fabulous Flournoy is currently head coach/player of Newcastle Eagles.
