Macmillan Academy musicians are being presented with a CD recording of a song that they composed whilst working with local singer/songwriter Carl Pemberton.

Macmillan Academy musicians are being presented with a CD recording of a song that they composed whilst working with local singer/songwriter Carl Pemberton.

Carl shot to fame as part of the duo Journey South, who performed their music on the TV show 'The X Factor'.

The students created their own music and lyrics, with Carl overseeing their progress during a one day workshop at the Academy. They then sang and played instruments as part of the final recording.

Mr Wise, Head of Music at the Academy said "It is really great to see and hear the musical talent that we have at Macmillan, and to give the students the opportunity to have experience at working with high standard musicians such as Carl Pemberton".
