On Wednesday 12th June, twelve Gifted and Talented students from Years 8 and 9 took part in the Teesside 'Gifted and Talented Science and Technology Challenge Day'

On Wednesday 12th June, twelve Gifted and Talented students from Years 8 and 9 took part in the Teesside 'Gifted and Talented Science and Technology Challenge Day'. The event was held at Teesside University and was hosted by University students from across the country.

The day consisted of four challenges which the students tackled in mixed school teams. There was a winning group for each challenge and an overall winning group of the whole event. The challenges ranged from construction of a paper bridge and construction of an electric powered car to an E-FIT facial reconstruction software challenge.

All the students who took part enjoyed the challenges during the day; they all worked very hard and were a credit to the Academy. some of our students will now go on to represent Teesside in the North East challenge event, so watch this space!
