On Tuesday 19th March Year 7 students had the opportunity to improve their writing skills by experiencing 'The Grammar Show'.

After their lunch, not knowing what to expect, the excited students gathered in the theatre to wait for the show to begin. At 2 o'clock promptly Mrs Barrett introduced the show presenter and with a burst of music and flash of lights 'The Grammar Show' began!

Nouns were the first things to be introduced and after a brief explanation, one lucky student was chosen for the spot quiz to test their knowledge. The rest of the students were then invited to join in with the noun song and after a hesitant start, the Year 7 students were soon doing Macmillan proud with their eager participation.

After a quick visit to the Grammar Aquarium and some decidedly silly jokes about grammar told by speaking fish, the show moved on to verbs, adjectives and adverbs. The singing was soon enhanced by the use of air guitars and air saxophones which certainly added to the electric atmosphere.
