No Smoking Day is on Wednesday the 13th of March. Year 12 Health and Social Care students are supporting and raising awareness for no smoking day. The students will have a stall at the back of the dining hall where students or staff can ask questions, take a leaflet and take part in some fun activities. This year's theme is 'Swap Fags For Swag' The theme highlights the cost of smoking and the health implications. Smoking can cause cancer, heart disease and respiratory problems. Additionally, smoking can cause teeth to discolour and early ageing to occur.

The average age for people to begin smoking is twelve which is a very shocking fact. At the stall in the dining room, you are welcome to come and ask questions and maybe find some guidance to help you or your parents to quit.

This video gives an overview of no smoking day and highlights the steps Macmillan Academy are taking to raise awareness of smoking.
