Year 10 students studying ICT and A Level Media students in Year 12 travelled to London for two days to see how ICT and Media are used in several exhibits around the city.

A group of 46 students, along with staff, travelled down to London by bus on Thursday 7th February and spent the afternoon visiting the city's Science and V£A Museums before shopping in the famous Covent Garden markets and having a meal in the Fire and Stone pizza restaurant. Students then visited the West End to see the award winning Lion King production.

Wednesday was spent in the O2 (Millennium Dome) in Greenwich at the British Music Experience, which tells the story of British music, from the 1950s to modern day through interactive exhibits and artefacts donated by artists such as Oasis, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, the Beatles and Amy Winehouse. In the afternoon, students were given a presentation by staff from the BME looking at how IT has affected the way we listen to music.

The A Level Media students visited the Making of Harry Potter exhibition at the Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden, which shows how a small idea was turned into film, from huge sets like Diagon Alley to the special animatronic effects like the fire breathing dragon.

Everyone who came into contact with the students over the two days commented on how impressed they were with them and how well they represented our Academy.
