Macmillan Academy has won a special Lifetime Achievement award for its many years of working alongside Middlesbrough's environmental teams to support the sustainability agenda and work on environmental issues.

On 27th November, two representatives from our Eco-Council accompanied by Mr Flood, attended the Awards Ceremony to receive their prize. Mr Flood, the new Sustainability Co-ordinator was delighted with the award and commended the Eco-Council team for their hard work and commitment over the years. He was also was keen to acknowledge all the efforts made by Dr Wake (the previous Sustainability Co-ordinator), Mrs Campbell and Mr McCallum, who as Deputy Principal made sure sustainability issues became an Academy priority.

The students who attended were delighted with the award, saying "It was nice to receive recognition from outside of the Academy for all our hard work." They added, "The awards ceremony allowed us to see the amazing work carried out by other schools. Also the prize money will allow the eco council to implement some of their ideas and develop even more of our own."
