At 11.00 o'clock on Friday the 9th November, the Academy observed a one minute silence to mark Remembrance Day for 2012. Normal activities across the campus stopped for ten minutes as all students and staff watched a televised broadcast prepared by the Academy Studio.

The focus for this year's broadcast was based around the significance of the Remembrance and the last survivor of one of the most important struggles of World War II, who sadly passed away just two weeks ago. We also feature a short interview with Middlesbrough's Elected Mayor Ray Mallon, who on Thursday 8th November laid the first poppy at Middlesbrough's cenotaph, in a blessing ceremony prior to Remembrance Sunday. This special feature is presented by students from years 7, 9, 10 and Post 16 and is now available for you to view from this web site.
