Our annual Awards Evening was held on Tuesday 6th December 2011 in Middlesbrough Town Hall. It was a very special occasion in which we celebrated our students' successes over the past academic year.

We were delighted to welcome Miss Natasha Maguder, who was Macmillan Academy student from 1993-2000 as our guest of honour at the ceremony. Natasha is a staff producer and director of short documentary features for CNN international. As part of her job she sources stories from around the world, researches them, films them, interviews the people involved and then returns home to write the scripts and edit the pieces. Past projects have included short documentary pieces in the Arctic, the Amazon and sub-Saharan Africa.

With a blend of live entertainment and videos showing a range of experiences, along with the presentation of awards, the event showcased some of our most talented individuals and rewarded the efforts and achievements of a large number of students from Year 7 to Year 13.

Well done to all the students and thank you to our guests and all the staff involved in planning and running this successful and memorable event.
