On Thursday 3rd November, the annual Sports Awards Presentation Evening took place at the Academy.

The evening was held in recognition of those students who have made valuable contributions to Physical Education and Sport.

It was a huge success with over 300 students and parents in attendance. The evening provided an opportunity to showcase the many successes and sporting achievements of the past year and also served to motivate and inspire students.

The guest speaker was former double commonwealth gold medalist swimmer, Mr. Chris Cook, who made a superb key-note speech that was inspirational to all in attendance. The main award winners were:

  • Jack Willis (KS3 Sports Personality of the Year)
  • Jessica Dawson (KS4 Sports Personality of the Year)
  • Zayn Khan (KS5 Sports Personality of the Year)

Last year's Year 11 Football team won the overall Team of the Year award which was received by former students Nathan Lowe and Tom Crockett.

Jack Willis won the Special Contribution to PE and School Sport Award after playing no fewer than twenty-seven fixtures for various Academy sports teams.
