Year 13 Health and Social Care students organised a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan cancer support.

The charity's aim was to host the 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' on Friday 30th September with all money raised going to the various facilities that the charity offers.

The students from Macmillan Academy chose to support this event as they are all aware of the effects of living with cancer and the impact it can have on both the person and their family and friends. The group believe if they could help to support one person through a difficult time then all efforts would have been worth it.

On the day, the Health and Social Care rooms where transformed into lovely coffee shops with welcoming atmospheres and they provided plenty of home-made cakes and scones to accompany freshly made tea and coffee.

The morning was a massive success with a good attendance from both staff and Post 16 students with the cakes and scones being a sell-out. We have raised £157.75 for a good cause.
