This year's Macmillan Academy Annual Christmas Appeal to support the work of the Salvation Army in Stockton was our best ever.

This year’s Macmillan Academy Annual Christmas Appeal to support the work of the Salvation Army in Stockton was our best ever.

Students, staff and parents donated well over one thousand tins, packets and other non-perishable items of food which the Salvation Army uses to cheer the festive season for those in greatest need at this time of year.

As ever, a group of Salvation Army musicians came into the Academy to collect the items on Tuesday 19 December and played Christmas Music in the Dining Room during the students’ morning break.  This year a number of the Academy’s own musicians joined in with the band.

Bernard Cook from Stockton Salvation Army said,

We really do appreciate all that Macmillan Academy does to help us at this busy time of year, as do the people who receive the food.  It’s a terrific gesture and we’re very grateful for these young people’s efforts.  We thank them very much.
