Year Nine students went on a number of visits at the end of the summer term, experiencing High Force waterfall, Raby Castle, Fountains Abbey, Beamish and Harewood House.

Students who went to the Beamish Museum were praised for their exemplary conduct and thoroughly enjoyed their day out. During their visit, led by Mr Goldsmith, students were able to go inside a coal mine, ride on the trams and buses, enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and spend time in the town, where many headed straight for the traditional sweet shop for cinder toffee and sherbet.

Visits to Raby Castle and Fountains Abbey were similarly successful, and students enjoyed guided tours and learnt much about these historic buildings and their importance. Those at Fountains Abbey also had the opportunity to sketch the Abbey with tuition from Head of Art and Design, Mr Lightfoot.
