Year 12 French students undertook a valuable week long work placement in the French city of Nancy.

The trip to Nancy provided students with a week's work experience in a foreign country to gain confidence in speaking French whilst also gaining valuable experience in the world of work.

The students travelled from Dover to Calais via ferry, then travelled another seven hours to Nancy. On their first day, they were free to get to know their surroundings and find their placements, as well as visit the sights of Nancy to find their bearings.

Students worked in a variety of different places, including a local Pharmacy, men's designer clothes shops, and a traditional French restaurant. All of them worked hard and enjoyed their experiences. Sam described her time at the Pharmacy as, "a wonderfully enriching experience", adding that she, "learnt so much about French life and the French language". Holly described the trip as, "a great experience which helped me with my French because I got to talk to other colleagues a lot and learnt a lot about them too."

Aiden particularly enjoyed his time working in the traditional restaurant, "I think that everyone should be able to try out this experience because the freedom and responsibility you have is something that prepares you for the years to come. The fun and enjoyment I had with others on the trip is something I won't soon forget. It has been a wonderful memory that will stay with me for the rest of my life."
