Thanks to MSA Go Motorsport, Macmillan D&T students enjoyed finding out about careers in the motorsport industry.

Anthony Dunn, Regional Development Officer (North East) for MSA Go Motorsport Campaign came to the academy on Monday 23 May, where he spent the day working with students in the Design and Technology department.

The visit was to promote engineering opportunities within the motor sport industry. Mr. Dunn brought a racing kart from Teesside Autodrome and a rally car from SG Petch which students enjoyed learning about whilst sitting behind the wheel.

The visit provided an excellent opportunity for students to find out about engineering career prospects in motor racing. Rob Smedley, Chief Engineer for Ferrari, was born and brought up in Middlesbrough so is a great example of someone local who has made it to the top in this field.
