Macmillan Academy were dressed for success when they visited Manor College in Hartlepool for their final Year 7 A and B team football matches of the season.

The students were wearing their brand new maroon and black football strips and despite having two depleted squads both teams fought out very close matches. The 'A' team won 2-1 whilst the 'B' team, after a thrilling match, lost 5-4.

Despite two highly entertaining matches, all the talk post-match was about how smart the strips were and one student said, "I am buzzing and can't wait for next season to wear our new strips again".

This was great way to end the season for both teams. The 'A' team finished as runners up in the League Championship but have shown a great deal of improvement. They also were victorious in the Middlesbrough Schools 7-a-side tournament when they defeated Ormesby School in the final. In addition, the 'B' team have also made huge strides during the 8 fixtures that they have completed. Remarkably, over 45 students have actually represented the Academy in football since the start of the year!

Mr Coates, Mr Crager and My Syed would like to congratulate all the players for a their performances throughout the season and are hugely anticipating next season.
