On the evening of Tuesday 3rd May, thirteen students attended the county-wide Student Librarian Award ceremony. Nine students achieved the first level and four students achieved the advanced Level.

The ceremony was held at Our Lady and St Bede RC School, Stockton, where they were congratulated by and received their certificates from the comedy writers and performing double act - The 2 Steves.

Students on the training scheme work voluntarily in the Library during their morning or lunch time breaks. In addition, they are required to complete a set of worksheets and produce various guides to prove they have gained valuable library, information and customer care skills. The scheme's also a great opportunity for students to build their confidence, make new friends and work as part of a team with students from different year groups. Advanced level students act as mentors to the less experienced student volunteers.
