This year's BBC School report has seen a dedicated team of Year 9 students supported by a number of Post 16 mentors produce a range of TV packages and web news articles.

The main aim of BBC School Report is to interest young people in news of all sorts, and the world around them, by giving them the chance to make their own news.

This year members of the team have visited local landmarks including Middlesbrough's transporter bridge and several local business.

One of the highlights was a visit to London to work with ex-student and BBC Producer Stephanie McGovern on a number of TV packages, one of which we hope to see on a programme broadcast by the BBC in the coming weeks.

On 24th March, Macmillan students worked alongside students from Gillbrook Technology College to produce an exciting news programme which contains many of the packages they produced over the past few weeks. The whole project was closely monitored from London by the BBC School Report team.

Many thanks to all those who have contributed to our programmes in the past few weeks. The School Report has proved to be a fantastic learning experience for all the students involved. Keep an eye out for some of their faces back on the TV in years to come!
