On Wednesday 9 March four Year 12 students represented Macmillan Academy in the University Challenge Finals.

The event took place at the University of Durham (Queens Campus) and the team consisted of Sam Gibson, Emillie Rolfe, Matthew Sonley, Bethany Williamson. After beating stiff competition from Prior Pursglove and Yarm School, they managed to qualify for the final. Sadly the team were beaten to the post by a superb performance from SRC Bede who were very quick on the buzzer.

Macmillan Academy finished up as runners up in the schools teams which was an excellent result as all of the students gave an excellent performance. Thank you to all of the staff who gave up their time to come and watch the completion.
