On Wednesday 17 January we were delighted to welcome Lynsey McCabe from the Elephant Group and Alex Lazzari from Newcastle University to speak to Year 11 and Year 12 respectively about the importance of aiming for a competitive university.

Both sets of students had been identified for the presentation as they are currently the top performing students within their year group. Macmillan Academy joined the Elephant Group in September 2022 and the group is committed to increasing access to ‘top third’ universities for ‘top third students.’ Our current Year 13 students have certainly benefitted from being part of the group and we are very hopeful that our early applicants receive the university offers they deserve.
