Students from Mr Reed's MacFactor enrichment handed over a cheque for £ 400 on a visit to Teesside Hospice on 20th January.

They had raised the money by creating and selling their own Christmas CD which was recorded in November at the Macmillan Academy recording studio and featured twelve tracks, encompassing a range of genres from R&B to pop, indie and show tunes.

The idea for the fundraising CD evolved after several visits to local residential care homes across the Teesside area, in which students from the 'MacFactor' musical enrichment performed songs for residents.

The response the students got from residents was overwhelmingly positive and they decided to showcase their talents to more people by producing the CD.
