The Academy has been recognised for its commitment to sustainability by being given a national Award which puts it amongst the top Eco Schools in the country!

We are pleased to announce that the academy has been awarded Green Flag status following a recent assessment. The Green Flag Award is the top award for an Eco School and we are proud to be one of only a small number of secondary schools to have received it.

'Eco-Schools' is an international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed these principles into the heart of school life.

The assessor visited the academy on Friday 3rd December and spent time interviewing Eco-council students and judging our portfolio of evidence. Special thanks go to the students involved who were excellent ambassadors for the academy and to the staff who support the academy's sustainability initiative.
