Year 9 students participated in an exciting Samba workshop day which forms part of their Key Stage 3 Baccalaureate programme.

On Tuesday 16th November 2010, Year 9 students started their Samba day with a warm up session led by the internationally renowned percussion quartet BackBeat. They then participated in a carousel of activities which consisted of; a Samba workshop with BackBeat, learning to speak some Portuguese in MFL and designing a mural of Brazilian Graffiti in Art.

Students worked with enthusiasm throughout the day and some students even performed in a concert with BackBeatin the final session. Students will now embark ona tutor group challenge which is to create a product to demonstrate their learning of the three activities from the day.

This will be shared on the Links blog with our partner schools. We currently have links with schools in Spain, Trinidad and Tobago and Mexico.
