In the first week of October students from Year 8 went on an exciting field trip to Robin Hoods Bay, in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, which brought to life what they had been studying in Geography lessons this term.

The students learned about how this 'Dinosaur Coast' was formed over 200 million years ago, how it is quickly being eroded and weathered away and how the sea defencestry to prevent this. They also interviewed visitors to find out where they had travelled from and what they enjoyed about the place.

The views were brilliant and the students even better! Robin Hoods Bay gets half a million visitors a year and hundreds of schools go there on trips too, but our students were describes as "the nicest, smartest and politest students" they'd ever seen!

The students really were a credit to the Academy.

Well done Year 8!
