During the summer, 10 students from our Academy were selected to attend the Durham University Gifted and Talented Summer School.

During the summer break, 10 students from Macmillan Academy were lucky enough to be selected to attend the Durham University Gifted and Talented Summer School.

Students from across the country came together to participate in academically challenging and stimulating sessions led by leading experts in fields including Modern Languages, Physics and Business.

There was also an exciting social programme and a wide range of extra-curricular activities for students to sample ranging from self-defence to pottery.

One student who attended the Summer School said "Spending a week at Durham University was a great opportunity for me to experience a degree level education. It was a real eye-opener to what university life is like and what opportunities are available to students. It was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone!"
