Parents and students have been working together and learning new skills this term in a food and cookery enrichment run by Miss Mallaby.

Throughout the term, Miss Mallaby has been running a cookery enrichment with a difference in that parents have been invited in to cook with their sons and daughters. The sessions have been very successful and having the support of parents has been a real advantage. The groups have cooked a range of foods including; muffins, curry with raita dip and souffle and have learnt new skills including ways of using more unusual ingredients. As well as cooking, they have also looked at making meals healthier by making small changes and they enjoyed the social side of cooking together. This enrichment is funded by two schemes called 'What's Cooking Together' and 'Lets Get Cooking'. This enrichment will be running for the summer and autumn terms of 2010 so that more students have the opportunity to get involved. For more information see Miss Mallaby in the Technology department.
