Students have tasted success in the English Schools Table Tennis Association Butterfly National Team Championships, click to read how they got on.

p>Over the past couple of months four Year 9 students have been winning team table tennis tournaments in the English Schools Table Tennis Association Butterfly National Team Championships U16s. On Saturday 27th Mr Flood accompanied the four students to St Bede's Sports College, Blackburn where they were to take part in the regional finals. The scores are as follows:

Macmillan Academy 6 - 2 Bedford Modern, Beds
Macmillan Academy 4 - 4 Calday Grange Grammar, West Kirby, Merseyside
Macmillan Academy 5 - 3 Tupton Hall, Chesterfield, Derbys

The boys narrowly edged out Calday Grange Grammar to win the tournament on count back and as a result now compete in the national finals at Hinckley Leisure Centre, Leicestershire on March 20th. The boys showed amazing levels of sportsmanship and were totally unfazed by competing against Year 11 students from other schools.
