Year 8 students are working with the Academy Library to generate enthusiasm for reading with the new Premier Reads scheme.

Nine Year 8 boys are involved in the national Reading Champions scheme. Its aim is to generate enthusiasm for reading through recommendations and promotions. Our boys' team is called "Premier Reads" and they are going to help and encourage all boys in the Academy to enjoy reading as much as they do.

They've already set up a swap box in the Library with books, magazines, game cheats etc. that boys can swap with each other. They've persuaded keen readers amongst members of staff and older boys to act as reading role models who will be photographed and videoed championing their favourite book for a publicity campaign around the Academy.

Watch out for examples of "Premier Reads" work around the Academy and GET READING!
