After a two year gap, the Macmillan Academy Jobs Fair returned to inform and inspire our KS4 and KS5 students and their families with possible future careers.

After a two year gap, the Macmillan Academy Jobs Fair returned to inform and inspire our KS4 and KS5 students and their families.

Over 60 employers attended the event, allowing our students to directly gain an insight into employability and the local labour market. Prior to the event students had researched the companies attending, had time to narrow their choices and attend the event with focus and preparation. Parent / carer support has always been a Macmillan Academy strength and the event saw both students and families attending, investigating options together as a household.

Preparing a young person to become career ready takes a lot of support and guidance, advice and confidence building. Hosting the Jobs Fair, allows students to gain insight into the jobs market, makes it accessible to ask questions to employers and to become inspired by working professionals from a range of career sectors. Students are, for the first time, learning the vital skill of networking, consolidating their career research from school to the preparation for their own career journey.

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the employers who attended this event for the positive impact they have on our students and our local community.
