Year 13 Health and Social Care students organised a fundraising event for the 2009 Breast Cancer Appeal. The students had spent considerable time in planning meetings to prepare for the event and they gave presentations to all Year groups in assemblies. On Friday 23rd October, a wide range of activities took place involving students and staff from across the Academy. Staff and Post-16 students made contributions to 'wear it pink' for the day and ribbons and pink biscuits were sold at break.

In addition, there were a number of fun activities, such as a tombola, and competitions to 'Name the Teddy' and 'Guess how many sweets in the jar?' Congratulations to Henna Saleem (Year 7) and Robert Bland (Year 11) who won these competitions.

Well done to the Health and Social Care team and thank you to everyone who supported the event and contributed to raising over £550 for the charity.
