Mrs Maddison, Miss Hill and the BTEC Business students would like to thank everyone who supported their efforts to collect toys and food for the annual Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.

Due to the generosity of students, parents and staff, the group managed to put together 74 boxes of food and toys, 22 up on last years total of 52. Major Gotobed, of the Salvation Army was very grateful for the contributions and wishes to pass on his sincere thanks to all involved.

The BTEC Business students also helped out at the Salvation Army Citadel, in Stockton, assembling the food packs and Christmas gifts for the needy - an experience which they found very humbling but character building. Mrs Maddison described the students as "a credit to themselves and the Academy."
