On 5th December we welcomed Baroness Harris of Richmond who was visiting the Academy to meet with students.

On 5th December we welcomed Baroness Harris of Richmond who was visiting the Academy to meet with Government and Politics students from Years 12 and 13 and with Citizenship students from Year 11. During these meetings she explained the role of the House of Lords and described her daily routines in London.

The Baroness also met with members of the Student Council and was interviewed for the Academy Fresh broadcast. Baroness Harris, who lives in Richmond, has been a member of the House of Lords for over 9 years and is currently the Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Northern Ireland and for the Home Office. The Baroness has recently been appointed as a Deputy Speaker in the House. The Baroness spent over 3 hours in the Academy and described it as the most fabulous school she had ever been in.
