On Friday 25th April, 7 Macmillan students, who had successfully completed the 'Young Librarians Scheme', attended an Awards Ceremony at Egglescliffe School with their parents. This event was attended by 27 secondary schools with nearly 200 students attending.  They were all awarded their certificates by best-selling author, Gervase Phinn, who spoke with warmth, humour, compassion, a love of reading and a belief in the power of reading.

Despite, its temporary relocation, the IC staff are committed to ensuring that the IC is still seen to be at the heart of the Academy.  This particular scheme has provided students with valuable information literacy, customer services and mentoring skills.  For further information about IC events, please browse their section of this site.
