On Thursday 3rd April, a guest speaker from Teesside Positive Action will be coming to the Academy to talk to all Y12 Biology students about AIDS and its transmission, as part of their ‘Health and Disease’ module. Teesside Positive Action is a group working for Stockton Council to promote healthcare in the local area and raise awareness about issues such as drugs and AIDS. The presentation will support Year 12 students’ work for the Human Health and Disease AS module and will focus on the cause of AIDS, how it is transmitted and the treatment and problems associated with its treatment. There will also be a discussion on the issues specific to our local area and the disease. Students will be encouraged to ask questions. The first session will be P3 in Geography 1 for groups 12B1 and 12B2. The second session will be P5 for 12C in Sc13.Â
