On 17th- 20th February, 28 students flew to Amsterdam with the Art department.  On arrival in the city, students went on a canal cruise of the city to help them to work out their bearings and see the sights.  Whilst there, they went to NEMO, the Science and Industry museum, the Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank’s house and Rembrandt’s last home.  Students also enjoyed ice-skating in the park and shopping in the city’s flea-markets.

Highlights of the trip included having the opportunity to sketch in front of Rembrandt’s ‘The Night Watch’ and having a go at creating etchings in the same way that Rembrandt did, using a reproduction of a 17th century Dutch press.
